To reference a DVD in APA style, follow the ‘Motion Picture / Documentary (DVD)’ example in the APA referencing guide. In Mendeley, choose the ‘Film’ type and include the Director in the appropriate field. After adding the Director’s name, include (Director). You will also need to include [DVD] in square brackets after the title. The Mendeley reference will look slightly different from the manual reference. Both are permitted.

Manual reference using APA:

Wenders, W. (Director). (2011). Pina [DVD]. Germany: Neue Road Movies.

Mendeley reference using APA:

Wenders, W. (Director). (2011). Pina [DVD]. Germany: Neue Road Movies.

You will need to follow the same instructions for Digital video but vary the information to the example.
