The APA referencing style requires you to include the format in the reference. In Mendeley, choose the ‘Web page’ type. Include the format at the end of the title in square brackets eg. [Blog post]. You will need to add the Day and Month fields to enable for this information to be added. Go to Tools (Windows) - Options – Document Details – Book – tick the ‘Day’ and ‘Month’ boxes – click Apply and then OK.  If you have a Mac, the options will be under Mendeley Desktop – Preferences.  Your reference should then look the same as an APA manual reference.
