The APA referencing style requires you to include the version number and format in the reference. In Mendeley, choose the ‘Computer Program’ type. Include the version number in brackets and the format in square brackets at the end of the title. The Mendeley in-text reference will look slightly different from the manual reference. Both are permitted.

Manual in-text reference using APA:

(“Foodworks”, 2015)

Mendeley in-text reference using APA:

(“Foodworks (Version 8) [Computer software],” 2015)

Manual reference using APA:

Foodworks (Version 8) [Computer software]. (2015). High Gate Hill, Qld: Xyris Software.

Mendeley reference using APA:

Foodworks (Version 8) [Computer software]. (2015). High Gate Hill, Qld: Xyris Software.
